Chennai: Infosys employee killed, bleeds to death at Nungambakkam railway station”

A woman employee of IT major Infosys was hacked to death in front of dozens of horrified onlookers at a busy railway station in Chennai today.

Friday morning Swati started from her home to office was waiting to board the train to get to her workplace at the same time a young guy wearing a green Shirt who approached Swati and started talking to her.

Witnesses said the two got into a heated argument during which he suddenly took out a sickle from his backpack and attacked her. She tried to run, but lost balance and fell on the ground.

Cops arrived on the spot later and it took them almost two hours to remove her body from the spot.

They are speaking to her friends and relatives to find headway in the investigation.

In a statement, Infosys said: "We are saddened by the unfortunate incident that has led to the demise of our employee in Chennai".

Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with the family of the deceased.
