'Dead Island 2' Deleted on Steam; Is Game Really Cancelled?”

Deep Silver later announced that Sumo Digital would pick up the reigns on the game, but there hasn't been much talk about it since then. But several websites say the game might be re-revealed at a later date, or it might be cancelled. Here's hoping for Dead Island 2.

Dead Island Retro Revenge isn't released until August but will feature classic side-scrolling/endless runner action, melee-based combat, leaderboards, power-ups, super attacks and a combo system.

Watch the new launch trailer below and let us know your views of this remake in the comments... Since its reveal during E3 2014, the game has been trapped in development hell. For anyone who missed out on two of the best games last generation, there's now a chance to do so as both Dead Island games received the remastered treatment, making it the definitive collection any survival horror-genre fan must get.

So all we can really gather from Deep Silver's response is that the game isn't canceled.

"About an hour ago the Dead Island 2 Steam page was seemingly removed from steam", DeathSparks wrote. According to a Game Rant report, Dead Island 2 was meant to be a Yager Development product.

If the Dead Island development is going to be started from the beginning by Sumo Digital again, it would make sense if they discard everything that has been shared about it by YAGER before them. After that, the game publisher announced in July 2015 that the sequel's development will be handed to Sumo Digital, which is a popular game developer of LittleBigPlanet 3 and Sonic racing games. It is now planned for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. I've forgotten about it many times, only to be reminded by various forms of zombie paraphernalia that it exists.
