Keselowski claims pole for Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Pocono

Daylong rain and mist at Pocono Raceway has forced NASCAR to postpone the Sprint Cup Series race scheduled for Sunday afternoon. It is the first Monday race in more than two years.

"I think my brother (Pocono COO Nick Igdalsky) and I are blown away by how much we've done in the short time we've done it", Brandon Igdalsky said Saturday.

His Team Penske teammate Joey Logano will start alongside Keselowski on the front row for the race, which begins at 1 p.m. and will be televised nationally by Fox Sports 1. After the defections of Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards, Biffle has been left behind. He earned his 10th top-10 start of the season and his seventh in 15 races at Pocono, but his second straight No. 2 qualifying effort left him somewhat frustrated.

No team is more dominant on than Martin Truex Jr. and the #78 Furniture Row Racing group and they displayed that dominance last weekend in Charlotte, leading all but eight laps of the Coca-Cola 600. Harvick has been piling up plenty of laps led and fastest laps run during his recent surge, and he should deliver a big chunk of points in both categories again Sunday after qualifying fourth.

However, in the last five years, Keselowski said the track has significantly improved.

"I think we have a really strong direction".

Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch posted the fastest lap times in the one complete practice session, held Saturday.

If it were up to Team Penske driver Brad Keselowski, he wouldn't wait any longer for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to incorporate the aerodynamic changes used in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race into the Sprint Cup competition package.

"We're mad about second and it's a good thing when you're mad about second because it means your organization and your team is where it needs to be mad".
