Sunday afternoon, Orange County Sheriff's helicopter spotted some great white sharks about 150 yards from the shoreline off Anderson Street on Sunset Beach.

The beaches were closed to the public after authorities spotted several large sharks near the coast.

A one-mile stretch of Huntington Beach was closed to swimmers after multiple sharks were spotted in the water on Sunday, June 5, 2016.

Doctors said Korcsmaros' physical condition and discipline were instrumental in her survival from the serious injuries she suffered. The shark that attacked her was not found.

The sightings of the more mature sharks also forced Seal Beach officials to shut down its ocean access.

The sighting came a week after a swimmer was attacked by a shark about 15 miles to the south at Corona Del Mar State Beach.

The spotted sharks were approximately 8 feet long.

"I instantly knew it was some kind of fish, and probably a big fish, like a shark", she told reporters from her bed at Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana on Tuesday, nine days after the attack off the coast in Corona del March.

The image was released by Orange County Global Medical Center, where she was treated.

On May 29, a shark bit a 52-year-old woman off of Corona del Mar State Beach.

Officials restricted swimming in Sunset Beach and adjoining Surfside Beach in Seal Beach.

The beaches were officially closed at 3:45 p.m. Sunset Beach will remain closed through the evening until Tuesday morning.

The closure comes just after lifeguards reopened the beach following shark sightings over the weekend.
