Girlfriend Records Police Shooting Her Boyfriend

On Tuesday, July 5, Sterling was shot and killed by police in Baton Rogue, Louisiana, while selling CDs outside a convenience store, where he had built a relationship with the owner, Abdullah Muflahi.

Fans described being moved to tears by the tribute that hushed the huge crowds at the 50,000-seat arena. Reynolds, grieving and angry, later gave her account of the shooting, saying police stopped her and Castile for a broken taillight and shot her fiancee as he complied with a request to give his license and registration.

Mayor Megan Barry called the killing of police officers in Dallas "horrifying and heartbreaking" and called for justice for Sterling and Castile on social media Thursday night.

Beyoncé, who is due to play Croke Park on Saturday, also penned an open letter entitled Freedom on her website.

Cleary upset by recent events, singer Beyonce took to her website and wrote an impassioned plea for cops to stop killing members of the black community. "We need everyone to respect our lives". She provided links to contact Congress (which subsequently caused the site to crash), to voice protest for Alton Sterling, and to voice protest for Philando Castile. "I shouldn't be afraid of that he may be taken away from me and shot dead because of false perceptions that all black men are unsafe regardless of education or status".

"Oh my God, please don't tell me he's dead, please don't tell me my boyfriend just went like that".

The officer thought the man was reaching for his gun, and the officer shot him. "I'm hurt that I knew his death wouldn't be the last".

Snipers killed five police officers last night in Dallas, the deadliest assault on US police since the 9/11 attacks. His girlfriend posted live video on the internet of the bloody scene minutes afterward, which was widely viewed. Sterling's case was somewhat of a different matter, with two policemen being forced to restrain him before the fatal incident occurred.
