One person who seemed particularly up for celebrating the news was Justin Bieber, who was pictured hitting a pub in Laguna Beach, California, last night.

In fact, the previous record-holder was Bieber's own 'Sorry' and its various remixes, which notched up nearly 4.4bn streams.

Jesús Lopez, Chairman & CEO of Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula, added: "Streaming has democratized music consumption, it has made Latin music increasingly relevant on the charts and it has amplified our songs and videos to a world stage".

It's certainly a positive moment for Latino cultures, given that racial division that is happening in the US right now.
