Manchester City Close to Signing Kyle Walker

Manchester City Close to Signing Kyle Walker”

England and Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker is close to sign a deal with Manchester City.

However, following Dani Alves transfer to Paris Saint-German, Pep Guardiola has moved to quickly seal a deal for the England fullback.

Spurs have key pieces in place still and Kieran Trippier can step up and replace Walker, but more is needed to help take them to the next level. Neither club disclosed Walker's fee.

City boss Guardiola released three full-backs at the end of last season, including both right-sided players - Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna.

Walker started his career at Sheffield United before joining Tottenham in 2009 and has since made over 200 appearances for the club.

The source suggests that Bayer Leverkusen will be open to a sale at a suitable price, and that Spurs have scouted the Germany international since his Champions League displays against the Premier League side in late 2016.

"Tottenham was a great club, it helped me to get me to where I am now". I was a little bit selfish when I went to Juve, I didn't listen to my wife or friends. "That's first and foremost". In fact, I can't remember hearing about a transfer involving two English teams where the up front fee is that high.

"He's very positive, says I'm going to fit into his style of play really well". I've learned a lot, especially under the current manager (Mauricio Pochettino), he's been fantastic with me.

With that fee combined with whatever was already budgeted for, Pochettino will surely now have plenty of money to spend this summer.

Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker.
