Kyrie Irving Says LeBron James' Feelings Don't Matter And Twitter Goes Nuts”

According to a report from Joe Vardon of, Isaiah Thomas, Cleveland's newly-acquired All Star point guard, will be joining James on Tuesday for the training sessions.

Kyrie Irving broke his silence on ESPN's "First Take" about why it was time to move on from the Cavs. The Celtics guard was on First Take this morning, speaking out about not telling LeBron James about his growing frustrations before requesting a trade.

"Why would I have to?"

"I reported that LeBron (James) was so ticked off because his name...not because you made a decision for your own future, but because his name was in the mix", Smith said.

"It was interesting, interesting, six years and you think about how the journey transcended my career". He spent years in the shadow of James and although they achieved a great deal of success together, Irving was seemingly exhausted of playing second fiddle.

Irving: "Why would I have to?"

Smith asked Irving what he thought about James' reported reaction to hearing about Irving's trade request from the Cavs.

No one can claim to be all that surprised by Irving's response, nor can they blame him.

Smith asked Irving if he was directing his statement about not getting a "truthful environment" toward any particular member of the Cavaliers organization.

But Love himself was a popular target of trade rumors.

"You can't put a price on happiness". Because I knew it was going to be madness, and it turned out to be like that. There comes a time where you mature as an individual, it's time to make that decision, and there is no looking back from that standpoint. And I wasn't getting that (in Cleveland). "And that's where it really stands". And it was hurtful because I knew how professional I had kept it throughout the whole entire process, and how strategic it was.

Despite being considered one of the favorites in the Eastern Conference this season Irving understands a lot of work will need to be put into making the Celtics compete.
