PUBG passes 15 million copies sold on Steam”

The game has now sold over 15 million copies on Steam alone (via SteamSpy) while the Xbox One version of the game is being developed for a release this Holiday.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has already secured its place as one of the most successful games on PC, knocking DOTA 2 off the top spot for most concurrent players ever at 1,291,328 users back in September.

The reason the game is popular is because of its addictive gameplay.

The game continues to sell amazingly well, and is close to hitting two million unique players.

Bluehole is now valued at $4.6 billion, which denotes a five-fold growth over the last three months.

In other PUBG news, the competitive ladder will be shut down temporarily due to "concurrent users increasing rapidly".

The new title attracted over 1,000,000 players on its launch day - but it's still not enough to impact the success of PUBG and Bluehole.

Not to mention the fact that the game is immensely streamable.

The developer of the game - South Korean company Bluehole Inc. - has agreed to produce the game for Microsoft, citing a release date before the end of 2016.

It just goes to show that players are ready to indulge in a fresh multiplayer experience that challenges them at every turn, since the game is built around the rule of "one and done" when it comes to surviving against 99 other combatants on a map, using whatever weapon they can get their hands on.

A source talking to Bloomberg stated that Bluehole is 'likely to give [Microsoft] a longer period as the solo console'. Microsoft is hoping to make the game a console exclusive for a long time, so this means PS4 owners will have to wait longer to play it. "We have nothing further to announce at this time", a spokesperson said.
