DeVier Posey named Grey Cup MVP”

The Toronto Argonauts will celebrate their Grey Cup win at a city hall rally on Tuesday.

Blue and white-clad Argonaut devotees screamed their excitement from the stands at Ottawa's TD Place Stadium - and later in the streets - as their Canadian Football League franchise handed Calgary a stunning loss to an underdog team for the second year in a row, defeating the Stampeders in a nail biter Sunday 27-24. That was a sequence that led Toronto to complete the comeback and kickstart the celebration in Ottawa.

Nenshi responded saying there was plenty of room on the Argos bandwagon, but only because "there's never been anyone actually on it".

After a 4-7 start to the season, the team largely rebuilt under new general manager Jim Popp and new coach Marc Trestman finished 9-9 to take first place in the weak East Division, then pulled out a close win over Saskatchewan in the division final.

"I was just there for the moment", said Vaughn.

"I was thinking, it's going to be tough being down two scores to these guys", said Ray.

Posey's touchdown came on the first play of the second quarter, when Toronto's veteran quarterback Ricky Ray dropped back in front of his end zone and fired a long bomb that found Posey near the sideline. "I was hoping we could hold them to a field goal". The primary deep threat, Posey racked up 744 yards and seven touchdowns in a shortened 12-game season, averaging 14.3 yards per catch.

"I got a lot of high fives after the game", a smiling Webb said. "The snow, the cold". "Danny Webb made it happen".

"We've been taking some shots all year when we've been backed up, and we've been pretty successful with it", Ray said. "The defence is playing amazing, special teams are playing amazing. It had to happen exactly like it happened".
