Champions League: which teams can qualify for the last 16?”

Despite winning their first four Champions League games, the Red Devils are not assured of passage to the round of 16 just yet, but boss Jose Mourinho knows a positive result against CSKA Moscow will see them progress.

Premier League giants Manchester United and Italians Juventus were among the sides to advance to the knockout round of the Champions League Tuesday following victories on the final matchday while Atletico Madrid were eliminated after being held at Chelsea.

Some targets may be more attainable than others, but that won't stop English clubs opening their wallets in the New Year.

Germany's fourth team, Hoffenheim, didn't make the group stage after losing in the playoffs to Liverpool.

Atletico Madrid, Basel, CSKA Moscow, Juventus, Leipzig, Liverpool, Manchester United, Napoli, Porto, Roma, Sevilla, Shakhtar Donetsk, Spartak Moscow and Sporting Lisbon are also in with a chance.

Manchester City were the last side to inflict a defeat on United, with Kevin De Bruyne inspiring them to a 2-1 win in September of previous year. Real Madrid are also confirmed to finish second and will be joined by three more sides - now scheduled to be Sevilla, Shakhtar Donetsk and Porto. That means Chelsea can not draw Roma, Manchester United can not be drawn to play against Basel and Tottenham will not be up against their Group H opponents Real Madrid.

Teams who were in the same group can also not be drawn together.

Which teams can still qualify for the Champions League Round of 16?

If Sporting fail to win, Juve go through regardless.

Germany-born striker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt is in Bayern Munich's squad for their Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena.

Tottenham: Bayern Munich, Juventus, Basel, Spartak Moscow, Sevilla, Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli, Porto or RB Leipzig.

Liverpool (if second): Roma, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Besiktas.

The draw will take place at 11am GMT on Monday 11 December at Uefa's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Mbappe had been given a boost towards the record by his exploits for Monaco last season, when they made a surprise run to the semi-finals.

Kylian Mbappe got one back for the Parisians who won the group and may go up against the likes of Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid in the last 16.

The first-legs will take place on February 13/14 and 20/21, with the second-leg games due to be played on March 6/7 and 13/14.
