Neymar scores four, Cavani equals club record as PSG hammer Dijon”

Neymar has been in fine form ever since securing his move to Paris Saint Germain in a world record move which saw him become the world's most expensive professional footballer.

The team helped him to achieve this individual mark, i think Neymar took the penalty because it was also a good day for him. The Spaniard's decision to persevere with Giovani Lo Celso in deep-lying midfield was particularly inspired.

Neymar scored his final goal of the match in the 83rd minute on a penalty kick.

Rightly or wrongly, the Brazilian appears to have usurped the Uruguay international as PSG's main penalty taker and that seems to have been accepted too - possibly something to do with Cavani's late return to Paris after the winter break.

"He was a bit bitter, maybe. We were almost perfect today", PSG defender Thomas Meunier told Canal+. "When you get whistled after scoring four goals and providing two assists, it's a bit ungrateful by the supporters".

"Conceding a completely avoidable goal in the last minute, it's a lesson to learn".

The Brazilian superstar was joined by Angel Di Maria (two), Edinson Cavani (an all-time joint-record 156th goal) and Kylian Mbappe on the score sheet. We reacted and scored at the end of the game.

The Ligue 1 leaders were 7-0 up against Dijon when Cavani was fouled in the area and the expectation was that he would get up, dust himself down and take the resultant spot-kick. "You don't just stumble onto that, you have to work on it".

Di Maria put the hosts ahead on four minutes when he found the top corner from the edge of the box after collecting Giovani Lo Celso's pass.

Elsewhere Russian forward Oleg Salenko got a 10 for his endeavours in the 1994 World Cup versus Cameroon, plundering five with both his side and the African nation already out of the competition.

Houssem Aouar, one of the rising stars in the French league, sealed the win in the 58th with a composed finish.

Montpellier missed the chance to climb up to seventh after drawing 1-1 away to Amiens.

Angers are now out of the bottom three following their 3-1 victory over Troyes.

Metz remains in last place but strikers Emmanuel Riviere and Nolan Roux are finding form.
